For about a decade, I have felt drawn to writing. From fictional stories to book summaries and reviews, the process of turning loose strings of thought into a connected web of ideas has fascinated me. Capturing an idea that, some day, another mind might read and comprehend. It truly amazes. It’s why another passion of mine is reading, soaking up the ideas and knowledge of other minds. Using their words to grow as a person and expand my horizon. After a long time of solely writing in my journal, I have been compelled anew to share my ideas. Among the first thoughts that come to mind is the question of ‘why’: why bother sharing? It might be of interest to ‘you’, that this piece of text isn’t addressed to anyone. As of now, this is a fictional conversation I am having with ‘you’, a fictional reader. That is because as of now, the website you might read this on doesn’t exist yet. At least not outside of my mind.
So, why bother? Why bother talking to ‘you’? Asking that question this early on might turn out to be what sets this apart from the ocean of other content flooding the internet. I don’t have typical motivations. I’m not doing this for financial gain or to gain followers. In fact, you aren’t able to follow me as I don’t have a presence on social media. That’s unless bookmarking a website counts as following. I value growing myself as a person through ideas, and I want to give back by sharing my own. As a little bonus, writing helps me reflect. I encourage you to try it yourself if you haven’t already.
This is a brief introduction to my mind; to how I think. I believe there is more value in that than telling you about personal accomplishments and all the amazing things I might have done. Who cares anyways? Isn’t it much more interesting and honest to focus on just the ideas, being agnostic to the person who produced them? I won’t mislead you by presenting myself as an expert or authority. I’m a person like ‘you’. Nothing more, nothing less. And right now, ‘you’ are a (still fictional) mind, absorbing the thoughts of another through written word. It still amazes. ‘You’ are reading these words in my future. By doing so, these words become present again. It is unlikely that you’re the first mind to read these words. Interesting enough, it is equally likely that you’re the last to read them. Regardless, right now, only your mind matters, and it is tasked with figuring out what to do with these words. Do they provide value or insight? How do they make you feel? What thoughts do they spark? Are they just a means to distract you from your life? You’ll be the judge of whether my thoughts are worth your time.
You might have recognized that this blog differs from other content you’ll find online. No clickbait-y title, no ads, no false promises, no annoying newsletter prompt, or cookie banner urging you for permission to sell your personal data to hundreds of faceless companies. So what will you be able to expect? After all, minds like to know what’s happening, and I don’t intend to bug you with uncertainty. I will use this medium to share ideas revolving around society, life, and personal growth. Among other topics, I’ll discuss health, psychology, and finances. No hustling, no magical productivity hacks. In a world that keeps becoming faster, and more overstimulating, with more shallow thoughts being shoved into people’s faces, I aim to do the exact opposite. No rush, no noise, no fear of missing out. This will be a place where two minds have a conversation. Where you should feel inspired instead of drained. Where you should feel calm instead of stressed out. All while allowing me to share and discuss ideas I find interesting. Truly interesting. Not ‘interesting’ like a video of a cat playing the piano. Interesting in a way where it might change the way you think, and therefore how you live your life.
I invite you to give this a chance.
Thank you.
